Why should I have a Service Contract?

Without effective servicing even the most advanced equipment will deteriorate. The provision and continued specialist servicing to maintain fire detection systems is specified as part of BS5839, the accepted national fire alarm standard. Insurance companies and the fire authority often insist that fire detection systems are maintained by approved competent companies with proof of regular certificates of testing. If you rely on a system to save your life in the event of a fire, you need to be sure that system is fully functional by having regular servicing.

BS5839-1 2013 states that the period between successive inspections and servicing should be based on fire risk assessment.
